We’ll be the first to admit that we love sponsoring fun and cool contests. We’re excited to sponsor a new competition, our first of the year, from the iFroggy Network. Think of it as American Idol meets Survivor meets… something else. Contest: phpBBHacks.com phpBB 3 Hacks and Styles Idol.
The competition is a great opportunity for coders and creators to show off some talent and win some great prizes.
Chitika will award one of the following prizes (winners choice!) for the contests’ grand prize:
The contest was to highlight and celebrate the success of bloggers from around the world. We received many great submissions but in the end, 3 successful bloggers stood out from the rest: Jeffrey Strain, of FinancialHack.com; Al Carlton, of CoolestGadgets.com; and Shawn Collins, of AffiliateTip.com
The winners were honored at this year’s TiECON Conference in Boston, MA. Here is the video of their award ceremony:
One month ago Chitika partnered with TiECON East to host the first-ever BlogPreneur Contest. The goal of the contest is to highlight the success of bloggers to the entrepreneurs of the world, and feature 3 winning success stories during the TiECON Entrpreneur Forum at this year’s TiECON Conference.
After receiving many entries for the contest, it was not easy to choose just three. We were looking for 3 success stories that portrayed blogging success from completely different perspectives, but all led to personal success.
The Winners Are:
Al Carlton, CoolestGadgets.com. In just 3 years CoolestGadgets.com has grown a readership of over 100,000 per day. “CG has enabled me to quit my day job, travel worldwide and earn an income doing what I enjoy.” Al now manages a fantastic team of writers and brings in a 6-figure income from blogging. Al’s story shows what is required to be a successful blogger today. Read his post here!
Shawn Collins, of Affiliatetip.com says that even though he writes 7 days a week, blogging has never been considered a job. Not many people can say that about what they do (especially a 7-day straight shift!). “Blogging success comes from the enjoyment of communication”, Shawn says, and that creating original content can be a stumbling block for bloggers. You can overcome this by “Soliciting feedback and input”. Read more tips from Shawn’s story here!
Jeffrey Strain, of FinancialHack.com explains how he was able to build a six-figure internet income from blogging. “If you want to succeed, you are going to have to work hard. Probably harder than you have ever worked before.” he says. Passion, creativity, Self-Motivation, Vision, and Time are just a few key factors. Read his success story here!
Congratulations to the three winners and a big thank you to all of the successful bloggers who participated in this contest. It was with great pleasure that we were able to participate in such a fantastic contest with TiECON and successful bloggers from around the world!
You have just two more days to submit your blog entry for the TiECON/Chitika Blogpreneur Contest. We will stop accepting submissions after 12:00am (EST) May 8th. Three winners will be chosen on May 25th, who will be immediately notified by email, and then featured during the Entrepreneur Forum at the TiECON East Conference May 29th.
The Blogpreneur Contest is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to receive great exposure for you and your blog. Publish a blog post on your blog highlighting the key factors of your success, and the winning stories will be featured in front of thousands of entrepreneurs at the TiECON East Conference May 29th in Boston, MA.
We are hosting this contest to feature the success of bloggers.
To keep a successful blog today is by no means an easy challenge, and in this contest you will get a chance to share the secrets to your very own success, how you were able to get your blog up and running and what you think entrepreneurs can learn from you.
For 3 Winners:
You will be featured as “blog stars” in a promotional spotlight during the TiECON Entrepreneur Forum (TiECON East is attended by over 5,000 people!)
Online video footage of your winning feature from the TiECON Conference to showcase on your blog
Extreme visibility for your blog on the TiE Boston website via news story, The Chitika Blog & Newsletter
A winning award badge for your blog & a plaque (awarded at TiECON East 2008; if the winner cannot attend, the plaque will be mailed to you)
Ian of everythingusb.com has been on top of the latest developments of Universal Serial Bus (USB) technology since 2002. In the last two years everythingusb.com received recognition from many leading publications, including The New York Times & USA Today. Now Ian can add Chitika’s Creative Creations winner to his list of accomplishments!
Ian found that by customizing his Chitika | RPU’s (Related Product Units) his CTR experienced quite a boost! He tailored his entire RPU’s to showcase accessories on an Apple iPod review page (which happens to be one of the most visited pages on EverythingUSB)
He customized it by adding appropriate keywords and changing the title of the RPU to things like “Related iPod Cases”, “Related iPod Accessories”, etc. By doing this, Ian was also able to highlight some cool accessories related to his posts!
Maybe you are already doing innovative things with your Chitika ads on your site, so now all you have to do is submit your url(s) for a chance to win. If you haven’t thought about what you could do to be our next winner, you are missing out on not only a chance to win a gift from Chitika, but the opportunity to increase your revenue forever! And everythingusb.com is living proof of how simple optimizations go a long way.
Chitika Creative Creations is a new contest we started in February, 2007 to reward all of you who have some pretty cool Chitika ad integrations! We have been shuffling through our 12,000+ publisher network on the lookout for the best integrations and in the meantime we invited everyone to submit theirs if they thought they had what it takes to be a winner. Turns out, you did!
The second winner of Chitika Creative Creations is: www.froomb.com!
Froomb.com is, “Saving the world. One deal at a time” by offering a really cool “deal of the day” directory for all of you shopping lovers!
“I have integrated a number of Chitika eMiniMalls in such a way that they appear to be part of the content rather than ads. The approach has done very well for me.”
